Fall = sourghum making

The family has been busy for the last two days making sorghum's .  We took the kids back to the old farm to help out but mainly they ran around and ate sourghums on a cane stick . A pretty fun day and alot of family time and memories ....I LOVE FALL

Fireplace makeover part 2

Here is the fireplace redone in black and we trimmed it with a extra piece of wall trim so it kinda looks like it matches the walls or was built in I like the black so much better thought about adding a star or something but don't know yet, any suggestions on decor for it ?

My new to me fireplace

I just wanted to share my new to me fireplace . I had a brick fake fireplace in my other home before the flood but it was destroyed so Iam so excited to have another one and the best part it was free ! So here is the before makeover picture I have already painted and made it over but Iam just to tired to get another picture tonight I will post it tommarrow , Oh and yes I did paint it in my favorite color black . Remember when looking at the 1st picture it does look kinda ruff but it was built about 22 years ago .

My new cabinet and a few pics!

Iam so sorry Ive been MIA , The last month or so have been complete and utter chaos . My family had the flu for it seems like weeks the time it went through all nine of us. We also had a death in our family my husbands aunt passed away of a heart attack a few weeks ago. I have also been very tired lately and stressed out . But I thought I better get a post going before everyone thought I had completely give up on my blog. I think I will share some Easter decor and a new cabinet I got off my mom , And yes I absolutely love it . Its old, worn and wooden my favorite kind of furniture...lol.... Also i wanted to post a new pic that was taken for a magazine that is going to be published for my county it will be about the flood we went through and some about recovery. ....OK now onto the prim stuff what should I do with this cabinet .....Help me ....I want to put old kitchen wares in it but Iam not good at displaying them without some pics to guide me so any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh hehehe I just noticed our oldest daughter managed to sneak out of this pic ....guess they will have to photo shop her in . Well I guess I will go for now I hear little ones hollering for me , till next time good bless all my prim friends.

The good ol' days

I thought I would share some pictures of the good ol' days when there was plenty of hard times but enough love and laughter to overcome anything. These are pictures of our family. I enjoy looking back at these and listening to stories told about Working in the tobacco fields and how all the clothes where hung outside to dry . Kids played outside for hours and you knew your neighbor as well as family. We live in Carter county Ky all the pictures are from right here . The picture of all the children is from the one room school house my husbands great great grandpa attended.

Here are the pictures of my kids getting baptised . They where baptised by Jimmy Barker the preacher at our church Grahn Freewill Baptist Church.. The first picture is Emma, Sarah , Jessie, and Shay The Lord is so good to us. I hope to get back to taking more home pics soon. I have been doing  some tweaking but I just couldn't skip posting these pictures and showing how great the Lord is .  I hope everyone has a great weekend....

My New Year goals.

I hope everyone had a very happy New year. We spent our new year home watching my favorite WLJC watch night service and can you just believe that 1000 plus souls were saved just last night.... My family had a rocky 2010 so we are looking forward to a calmer 2011. I have a few goals for my self and a few for our family too. My main goal for myself is to try to become more healthy and loss a few pounds ...well actually about 50 pounds.  I would also like to get caught up on my health checkups but I won't go into that on this post just yet. My goals for my family are attending more church services , doing more family gatherings in our new home... And  I would really like to get my kids involved in the community. I also have a 17 year old now (wow they grow up quick)who I plan on helping with a banking account driving and a summer job. I know this is a very big list .... I want  to thank the lord for bringing my family into a new year safe and sound and being there in our hearts everyday. No matter how low we have got the lord has always been there to lift us out ...So thank you Lord from the bottom of my heart. I have also gotton so many sweet comments left on my blog and I feel like even though I don't know you all except on the Internet your all close to my heart and always in my prayers. So Happy New year to everyone ...God bless through this 2011..........
